Those aspiring to become research managers and technology leaders within the strategically important areas of vehicle electrification and sustainability.


 
We will provide you with


A holistic understanding of the different technology options and methods for design, system integration, and verification that will drive the market introduction of new energy-efficient vehicles. You will develop the skills to design and evaluate the next generation of automotive products that have a lower environmental impact than conventional vehicles. You will learn the latest innovations in research, technology management, and leadership that are pre-requisite for career progression within the international automotive industry.

Masters Sustainable Automotive Engineering at WMG, University of Warwick: Curriculum

The course is modular - each student takes a combination of core and elective modules. 9 modules are studied and assessed in total. Modules consist of nominally 40 hours directed tuition in the form of lectures, seminars, group work, presentations, case studies and e-learning. This is covered in a full-emersion, intensive week.


Modules are assessed by Post Module Assignment - this is typically a further 40 -60 hours of work.


The core modules for the MSc Sustainable Automotive Engineering are:

 

Elective Modules


Elective modules allow you to select areas of study which are of particular interest to you, relevant to your project or future career plans. For Sustainable Automotive Engineering you can choose up to four from the list of elective modules on the website. There is a list of recommended elective modules on the WMG course webpage.

 

The taught modules account for 50% of the Master's degree. A major individual research project, submitted in the form of a dissertation accounts for the other 50%. This should take approximately 900 hours of study time. An oral examination is held upon completion.

Masters Sustainable Automotive Engineering at WMG, University of Warwick: Carreer

SCLM graduates have a huge spectrum of companies and positions they can work in, including providers of third party logistics, aerospace and electrical/electronic products and technology-based firms.

Students from this course go into a variety of roles including: Export Supervisor, Supply Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, Supply Chain Specialist, Consultant, Transport Operator, Procurement Coordinator, Supply Chain Manager/Officer, Planning Executive, Quality Assurance roles amongst many others.

Masters Sustainable Automotive Engineering at WMG, University of Warwick: Admission Requirements

Students wishing to study the MSc Sustainable Automotive Engineering should have obtained at least the equivalent of a UK second class honours degree. It is designed for engineering or STEM subject graduates with an interest in automotive innovation.

 

To make an application to a WMG Masters courses, applications must be made online at www.warwick.ac.uk/go/wmgmasters/entry.

 

You can apply now, even if you do not yet have all the necessary documents ready; if necessary we will make you a conditional offer until you provide them.

 

You will need to provide:

  • A completed application form & application fee.
  • A Personal Statement, which can be included in the online application.
  • A transcript of marks awarded so far (if you are currently studying) OR a final transcript / degree certificate* (if you have completed your studies).
  • English test result (if applicable)
  • One reference. If you completed studies less than 2 years ago, this should be an academic reference.

Funding Opportunities

At WMG, we will be awarding over £750,000 in scholarships and bursaries to students commencing study on our full-time MSc programmes in October 2019.

 

WMG Excellence Scholarship


WMG Excellence Scholarships are available on a competitive basis. These scholarships will award students between 25% - 50% tuition fee discount.

 

Awards will be based on past academic achievement, professional experience, extracurricular activities, reasons for study, and your vision for the future. Students are required to complete a scholarship application in order to be considered for the WMG Excellence Scholarships. Applications will close in April 2019.
