Our own facilities at the faculty

Utrecht University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has its own teaching farm, consisting of an organic dairy farm and a traditional sow and sheep farm. The practicals at these facilities will familiarise you with the basics of livestock farming. The Faculty also has its own farm animal clinic and practice and a veterinary hospital for companion animals and horses. The facilities are located around the corner from our university buildings. A large portion of the programme consists of clinical rotations and work placements at our own clinic, the University Farm Animal Practice and external locations.

A close-knit community of students and lecturers
UU Veterinary Medicine students form a close-knit community. There's a great atmosphere; almost everyone knows each another and is active in one of the Faculty's lively clubs and societies. These are very diverse, ranging from a riding club to a society focused on farm animals. Our lecturers are accessible and will guide you throughout the learning process.
