Studying Master of Business Administration at the Tio University of Applied Sciences

Tio's Master of Business Administration educates you to become an academically schooled all-round professional within large companies or multinationals. But why should you choose an MBA? Because the business world is desperate for highly educated managers like you with the right skills. With this master's degree, you can also hold positions that you cannot get with just a bachelor's degree. You are widely employable and the business world likes to work with professionals who have practical experience, but who also have well-developed analytical skills. The curriculum of the MBA consists of a core programme, a specialisation programme, a development programme and a final thesis project. The specialisation programme lets you choose a specialisation, which can be international management, hospitality or commercial management.

Master of Business Administration: Subjects

The curriculum of the MBA consists of a core programme, a specialisation programme, a development programme and a final thesis project. The courses can be found below:

Core programme (24 EC*)

• Financial Management (6 EC)
• Human Resource Management (6 EC)
• Operations Management (6 EC)
• Strategic Management (6 EC)
• Specialisation programme (18 EC*)

The specialisation programme lets you choose one of the three following specialisations:

1. International management

• Business intelligence (6 EC)

• Personal leadership (6 EC)

2. Hospitality

• Sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation (6 EC)
• Personal leadership (6 EC)
• Strategic facilities management (6 EC)

3. Commercial management

• Strategic marketing management (6 EC)

• Development programme (18 EC*)
• Final thesis (13 EC)
• Module development programme (5 EC)

Master of Business Administration: Admission Requirements

The admission requirements for our MBA are as follows:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 0-3 years of work experience.
• English Proficiency: CEFR: ≥ C1 | TOEFL: iBT ≥ 90 points (Institutional TOEFL code Tio: 4764) | TOEFL papier ≥ 575 points | TOEIC: Listening & Reading 720 + Speaking & Writing 310 | IELTS academic: ≥ 6.5 | Cambridge exam: Advanced (CAE) - Grade C (scale 180- 184) / First (FCE) - Grade A (scale 180 - 184) / First (FCE) - Grade B (scale 176-179).
• Knowledge of finance and marketing: This prior knowledge is necessary in order to be able to make a deeper understanding of these fields within the master. After registration, Tio checks whether you have sufficient knowledge. This depends on your previous education. If knowledge is lacking, an extra module can be followed before the start of the master programme.
•  Personality and capacity test: you will be invited by Tio.
