The University of Amsterdam's (UvA) Master's programme in Artistic Research is unique in the Netherlands, providing an alternative to the at times artificial opposition between professional art training and academic programmes for the study of art in the Netherlands.
The Master's programme in Artistic Research takes an experimental approach to both specific art objects and broader artistic concepts and opens them up to interpretation. Topics and strategies relevant for current scholarly debates and contemporary artistic practice are central.This Master reflects the flourishing practice of national and international research in the arts.
