Sport Sciences

Introduction

The Department of Sport Science at Aarhus University offers a two-year international MSc in Sport. Our programme is open to well-qualified students with a bachelor’s degree in Sport or a related subject from other institutions of higher education. The degree programme is both practical and research-oriented and is aimed at the public sector, research institutions and the business community. The degree programme is flexible and shaped to match your academic interests, and you can therefore specialise in a sport subject area while at the same time acquiring general competences in sport science.

Knowledge of the Danish language before commencing the degree program is not necessary. At the University of Aarhus, the teaching is in English unless all participants speak Danish.

The teaching at the university is greatly influenced by the research conducted here. As a Master’s degree student, you have excellent opportunities for working with researchers in the laboratory or in the field and you can also complete a project in collaboration with a private company. The Master’s thesis written during the last year or half year of the degree programme carries considerable weight and you can participate in the group’s research projects, academic discussions and articles.

You can specialize in a topic within a broad area, including one of the two main areas of Sport Science

• Humanistic Sport Research (Sport and Body Culture)
• Biology of Sport (Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics)

Admission requirements

In order to be admitted to the Master’s degree programme in Sport Sciences, you must have completed a Bachelor’s degree with Sport Sciences or Physical Education as your main subject .
